'Bruce Ransom Chest'. Rectangular coffer of oak in a boarded construction, pinned with wooden dowels: with iron strap hinges, damaged; hasp, lock, lock-plate and handle missing. Internally divided into two compartments. Painted decoration: on front, shields of arms of John de Coupland (left) and another, unidentified; on lid: John de Colville, England, ancient; shield obliterated; Ralph Neville of Raby Painted inscription: 'Hic continentur obligaciones super deliberacione et redempcione domini David Brus die iij mensis Octobris [anno domini mccclvij]'.
